After 18 years of research with a team of yogis, healers and clairvoyants, Master Choa Kok Sui of the Philippines, a respected scholar of esoteric sciences, developed an energy healing method known as Pranic Healing, now being practised by people across the world today.

The word ‘pranic’ is derived from the word ‘prana’ which means ‘life energy.’ Pranic healers utilise the life energy in our surroundings to heal physiological and psychological ailments. It functions on the belief that the physical body and the energy body are inherently interlinked and that human beings have a physical and an unseen ‘energy body’, often referred to as the aura.

The energy body consists of 11 major energy centres or chakras that regulate the energy flow in the body. Weakened energy centres make the physical body more susceptible to illness from external factors. For example, harbouring negative emotions or energy depletion in the body can weaken the energy centres and cause illnesses from a common cold to even cancer.

During a healing session, the Pranic healer will scan the patient’s energy centres to check that they are functioning optimally and to understand the cause of the illness. S/he then removes the diseased energy and optimises the centres with healthy energy to allow the body to heal naturally; healers sometimes use crystals to do this.
However, the healing session does not require physical contact between healer and patient and can even be conducted remotely. Minor ailments are usually treated within a few sessions; major conditions require many sessions in conjunction with allopathic medicine.

The Pranic Healing Centre states that this therapy is meant to complement allopathic medicine; it is also meant to ‘heal’ rather than ‘cure’. If symptoms persist patients must immediately contact a medical doctor.

Pranic Healing is currently not practised in Pakistan, although there are several centres in the Middle East. However, it is important to ensure that that the healer is certified by the World Pranic Healing Foundation.
