Strawberries are delicious, and more importantly, they are nutritious. They contain a range of nutrients, with vitamin C heading the group. They also contain anti-oxidants that fight free radicals which damage cells and cause many kinds of cancer. Strawberries are also an excellent source of flavonoids, manganese and vitamin K as well as copper, iodine, folic acid, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, potassium, riboflavin, vitamin B5 and B6.

Strawberries can help prevent and/or cure the following medical conditions:

Vision defects: The anti-oxidants in strawberries can help avoid dry and scratchy eyes, degeneration of optical nerves, macular degeneration, vision defects and eye infections.

Arthritis and Gout: Strawberries can help prevent muscle and tissue degeneration, the drying up of joint fluids, and the accumulation of toxic substances and acids which leads to arthritis and gout.

Cancer: Strawberries possess excellent anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogenic properties which form an excellent team to fight cancer and tumours. Daily consumption of strawberries is believed to decrease the growth of cancerous cells substantially.

Reduced Brain Function: The vitamin C and phytochemicals in strawberries neutralise the effect of harmful oxidants that cause memory loss, reduce control of the limbs, and brain tissue and nerve degeneration.

High Blood Pressure: The potassium and magnesium in strawberries lowers high blood pressure.

Heart Disease: The high fibre, folate, and anti-oxidants in strawberries form an ideal ‘cardiac health pack’, as they reduce cholesterol effectively. Some of the vitamin-Bs in strawberries also strengthen the cardiac muscles and improve heart function.
