St Mary’s Park is located off Main Boulevard in Gulberg. Spread over nearly 13 acres of prime property, the Park is a communal asset for the residents of Garden Town and Gulberg, offering countless options for recreation and relaxation.
A zoo, a lake and an amusement park… There is something to do for everyone; in addition to jogging tracks and walking trails, the Park has a rollerblading arena, a mini zoo and a small amusement park with rides for children. A prime attraction is a large water feature that consists of numerous fountains and an artificial lake where one can rent a paddle boat and cruise on the lake.
Golfing and go-karting… The Park’s most prominent and popular feature is its 18-hole mini-golf course which has almost all the features of a full scale course. The mini green keeps adults, children, aficionados and amateurs entertained for hours. In the heart of St Mary’s Park is the F-1 Traxx, a motor sporting facility offering go-kart driving and racing. The winding dirt tracks are open till late at night and resonate with the buzz of engines and youngsters cheering as they take a spin around the track.
Sit and eat… Also a part of the Traxx facility is the multi-cuisine restaurant Ze’ Grill which serves Pakistani, Chinese and Continental food (recommended items include cheese naan, malai boti and chicken chilli dry).
Guests can choose to sit in one of six themed seating areas, which include outdoor café style seating at the Arabian and Midnight Lounge; the latter has the added attraction of snooker tables. For a rustic experience there is Woodland Tree House, a double-storey wooden structure with an upper deck that is nestled amongst the treetops of the surrounding jacarandas.
In a nutshell… Although recent road reconstruction has infringed on the Park’s boundary, thereby reducing its area and marring the aesthetics, St Mary’s Park remains a wonderful getaway in the middle of Lahore; it is the perfect place to spend time with family and friends for a relaxing evening walk or a thrilling weekend filled with exciting rides, go-karts and good food.
